Training Programme
Each learner will develop a Personal Training Plan to ensure the programme meets their individual needs. The length of time any one person can spend on the programme depends very much on the needs of each individual but is approximately eighteen months.

The following topics are available to learners:
Ÿ
Home Management, including house keeping, food preparation, shopping, budgeting and safety in the home. FETAC Modules in Food & Nutrition and Food & Cookery are covered.
Ÿ
Personal Development including confidence building, self-esteem, assertiveness and communication skills. We follow FETAC Modules in Communications, Personal Effectiveness and Personal & Interpersonal Skills.
Ÿ
Community Skills where participants learn about local services and safety in the community.
Ÿ
Social and Cultural skills including planning leisure time, home-based leisure and community-based leisure.
Ÿ
FETAC Accreditation in the areas of art and crafts can be obtained.
Ÿ
Computer Literacy and ECDL can be studied.
Ÿ
Forward Planning including setting aims and objectives and exploring work and training options.
Ÿ
FETAC Modules in Career Information, Work Orientation and Preparation for Work are covered. Each participant will be encouraged to take part in at least one Work Experience placement in an area of interest to them. FETAC modules are available at Levels 3 and 4.
